Frog knocked at Toad’s door. “Toad, wake up,” he cried. “Come out and see how wonderful the winter is!”

“I will not,” said Toad. “I am in my warm bed.”

No one *has* to acknowledge transgender awareness week, but if you made trans-inclusivity a big part of your brand image, it certainly wouldn't hurt.

The hardest part of transitioning thus far has been giving up the deeply programmed belief that my purpose in life is to be a husband and father....

All the grief, all the shame, all the heartache, it's all tied to a sense of "failing" at the thing I was taught would get me into heaven.

Danny Brown for ally of the year.

His feature list reads like a who’s who of trans/lesbian artists.

Science, in its current model, can only find answers to the questions that we ask. We'll never have the right information if we never ask the right questions.

Here's one reason why we're asking the wrong question about trans athletes 👇

Fruits are mostly sugar

I'd rather just have another mtn dew

4chan doesn't make people trans, obviously. But the manosphere has a unique pull to eggs that feel excluded by images of traditionally masculinity.

Make *being trans* easier/more socially acceptable = less pre-transition trans folks wasting away on message boards.

Toxic masculinity hurts everyone
incel -> trans pipeline ain't a thing

We need to spend more time talking about why so many eggs end up in incel spaces.

Individuals are often driven to those spaces by alienation from an impossible image of masculinity. Why is it impossible? Sometimes its capitalism, sometimes it's cuz your trans

In a couple weeks you're all going to meet the 16-year-old trans girl who's challenge to a ban on gender-affirming medical care is being heard at SCOTUS and I'm going to need you all to 1) be loud and thankful for how badass she's being and 2) fight for her like your life depends on it

Search for Blair Hamilton and read some of their work. They’ve done a number of landmark studies in the field.

They’ve spoken out against the ambiguity and lax IOC standards, but in a way that encourages doing more research and not selecting arbitrary numbers without reason.
If you say you support trans people, but also say that you have "concerns" about trans women in sports, then perhaps you should consider whether you actually do support trans people.

Because what you're really saying is that you don't think trans women are women.

This field of study is pretty much my whole thing. It’s angering but also really interesting. The question of fairness is “fair.” But if we don’t really know if it is or not, the only reason to segregate is bigotry and fear.
Folks need to understand that framing banning trans women from women's sports as "keeping men/biological males out of women's sports" looks like a tautology to most normies. If you accept that sports should be segregated then of course men shouldn't be playing women's sports but WE ARE NOT MEN!

The ironic thing about post election chatter is that a lot of the time it’s candidates who lost, underperformed, or underworked who have endless time to go on TV and share their blame story.

And for their part, journalists rarely EVER ask if that person actually ran a functionally solid campaign

Gender affirming surgery is needed for cis people sometimes too…

I just can’t imagine wanting a prosthetic testicle 😂

Hi #academicsky I’m looking for potential phd supervisors that would be interested in studying the physiology, ethics, and policy surrounding trans people and sport. If you know anyone or know places I should look, let me know!
Reposts appreciated.

So, Mr. "Your body My..." He's almost certainly gay, right?
And his misogyny is an externalized version of the hatred he holds for his own sexuality? Is that a stretch?

Seems like the poor guy needs a life do over...

Best Hitchcock movie to capture our fear of assured oncoming violence:
The birds
The best Hitchcock movie to dissociate to is, unsurprisingly, Vertigo.

@bookboundprince.bsky.social I have a public threads account but I wanted to engage with what you posted a couple hours ago about the transphobic student.

Seems to me like the kid may be trans deep in there. It’s not unusual for eggs to fear what their body knows but their brain refuses to accept.

I feel this.

For me it shows up as no longer needing to avoid pain or fear at all costs. It’s easier than it’s ever been to have blood drawn or watch a horror movie. Even the cold bites a little more softly.
since transitioning, i no longer feel the need to win, compete or get the last word to feel worthy of love

being brave enough to let go, celebrate vulnerability and afford the opportunity to connect with others in deeper, more meaningful ways that a younger me could never have come to understand 🥰
