What does my life look like if I exist as a whole-ass person without all the heteronormative gender stereotypes?
It looks a hell of a lot happier XD

fats come first typically. Protein has a much longer route to becoming energy. Requires some fancy chemistry in the liver first while fats can get cut up and injected straight into the muscle when needed.

So yeah, you could lose muscle mass if you neglect weight training.

Your body is healthier overall with endurance training. Endurance athletes tend to live longer than the average person. But not wearing sunscreen and spending that much time outside will do just about anyone in.

It's for sure sun exposure, the "burns muscle protein" thing isn't true. Your body can't use protein that quickly to fuel exercise in any capacity.

If you train specifically for endurance, your body will shift to building/maintaining the smaller and more endurance focused muscle fibers.

Everyone should do sports. They're awesome.
So let's start asking how we can give more people that opportunity.

And at some point down the line, maybe we'll find an answer to the fairness question too.

So the question I'm asking is, how do we get trans people into sports and to become athletes?

Because at the end of the day, you'll never find out how much better or worse an elite cis athletes are than elite trans athletes until elite trans athletes exist as a population.

They build communities. They forge friendships. They bridge social, political, and economic divides. They bring JOY!!

And they give someone or some team the experience of winning.

We know this. Most people do sports most of the time for reasons other than winning.

Eventually, sure. But right now, the priority should be on trans athlete participation in sports generally, period.

Sports are awesome. They're one of the things I love most in life. They encourage physical activity and personal development. They improve mental and physical health...

If you search for "transgender" and "athlete" on pubmed, we're obviously only asking one question: is it fair for transwomen to compete against ciswomen?

But is fairness the right question to be asking here?
