Good news!! The federal hiring freeze for seasonal NPS rangers has been lifted due to the noise me made. Good work 👏🏼
But this is not as good of a win as we would’ve liked. Our permanent rangers are still out of jobs. This will still leave our parks understaffed and not properly cared for this year

What other forms of activism do you partake in? Many folks keep telling me “calling doesn’t save the world” and I get that. But I’d rather try than not try at all. So, what else can we do?

While many environmentalists talk about public lands in relation to climate change, let’s also acknowledge the hardships the rangers and their families now face. No one is hiring rangers right now. Many of them moved to remote areas for these jobs. Many of them dedicated years to these orgs 💔

With the National Parks Service (under direction of new DOI Secretary Burgum) removing Trans people from Stonewall National Monument…if you can call a body of water by its “new name,” you can do the same for a human being 😌
