CINEMATOGRAPHER/EDITOR/PHOTOGRAPHER/ FILM CRITIC

Just another queer who loves movies and politics a little too much
I thought this post was about trans women until the $90 part lol
It’s always funny to me when I see a doll with a rats nest for hair, limbs sticking up every which way, head nearly backwards, and the listing is $90. Like, I get not everyone who sells dolls is a collector, but you could give them SOME dignity if you’re trying to sell them 😭

FYI: SINNERS is the biggest Hollywood movie since INCEPTION and WEAPONS just murdered the box office. Original horror + a budget to match the ambitions of talented filmmakers = a winning combination.

i know i am late on this but is there more glaring example of the utter lack of agency the right wing is afforded

where is the guest essay taking the right-wing family to task for being such assholes that their own family members snub them

You today: I should have had more fun when I was younger

You when you were younger: I hope I survive until 8pm when I plan to watch a television show as the sole balm to the terror of existence

I finished Squid Game s3 yesterday and I really liked it. Sticks to its message of hope and goodness can only slip through a rotten system that can never be fully broken.
I haven’t seen any discourse about it. Season one was huge and then it just disappeared culturally. It makes me kinda sad

When I say max Verstappen is the best F1 driver I’ve ever seen that is under incredible duress as a massive Hamilton fan.

This took longer than I expected it to take to write but, this is my tribute to David Lynch and all of his films and Twin Peaks. He is maybe my favorite filmmaker and I'm glad I finished this.

I finally caught up with The Brutalist and Nosferatu!! I liked them both, surprisingly maybe the former more than the latter but overall I'm happy. Weird mustache though...

I don’t believe in any diminutional gods, but I feel like it’s divine intervention preventing me from seeing Nosferatu and The Brutalist

My family and I evacuated to Bakersfield to be safe. It’s absolutely surreal to see the pomp and circumstance around the Carter funeral while people’s lives are being destroyed bc a city is burning on the other side of the country.

It’s insane what people want to be important

I have some pacing issues w/ ‘ A different man’, but it’s weird vibes and Stan’s fantastic performance made it a really positive experience for me

I still claim Emilia Pérez is more bad than good but the best part is undeniably Saldana. A deserving winner imo

I picked Seth Myers btw

I did absolutely no research for my golden globes ballot list this year and got laughed at for not picking Jamie Foxx lol

I know awards aren’t important but it’s going to be super fucking disappointing if I SAW THE TV GLOW goes home empty-handed.

Not because an award would somehow validate the film, but because no awards would probably mean that most people in this industry are incapable of even understanding it.

I just watched this on Gathr. It’s available until Thursday and then it’ll be without distribution.

Please watch it for no other reason than it’s the best film I’ve seen for practical step-by-step advice on how to organize labor, and how sinister anti-union propaganda can spread

I love the Charlie Brown Christmas special. There's an eerie loneliness that hangs over the whole thing. The music, Charlie Brown's depression, the dying little tree, the flatness of the children's voices, the inevitability of death. A Christmas masterpiece.
