Among their plans, did the Mayor consider not expanding the burgeoning #police #surveillance technologies in #Seattle? Was it not just a few weeks ago some council members assured the public we were safer with more cameras pointed at us?

And that's why I left #tiktok back in January
Instead of worrying that TikTok could carry Chinese government propaganda — which the Supreme Court declined to even consider — "people can now be concerned that TikTok could be a conduit for US government propaganda," EFF’s @davidgreene.bsky.social and @evacide.bsky.social said.

For the other frogs wondering about the pot we're in: yes, those are bubbles. Yes, it's getting hot.
1. Republicans are attempting to get the FBI to label trans advocacy as domestic terrorism.

Project 2025's parent org is pushing it.

It would not label all trans people as terrorists, but it would open the door for heavy surveillance and disruption.

On Thursday evening, news emerged that individuals within and outside of Trump administration were pushing to cast trans activists as domestic terrorists. Then, Project 2025 dropped its proposal.

1. Anti-trans rhetoric heated up yesterday on the far-right, with two congresspeople and major Republican figures calling for the institutionalization of trans people.

Both Reps Nancy Mace and Ronny Jackson made such calls. Musk, Loomer, and Walsh echoed them.

Ezra Klein's opinion in the #nytimes - that #charliekirk did politics the "right way" - doesn't just posthumously sanitize his violent rhetoric. It prepares readers to defend #Newsom when they encounter #trans people who won't vote for Gavin because he agreed with Kirk's anti-trans talking points.

I know a lot of mainline dems read my work, so for those of you skeptical of my argument because of my role as a trans journalist, know that I _endorsed_ Harris for president.

The critiques I levy against Newsom are very particular to him and he poses a unique danger that I cannot stay silent on.
1. If you've scrolled social media lately, you've likely seem Democrats cheering for Gov. Gavin Newsom for trolling Trump relentlessly.

You've also likely seen trans people terrified of a Newsom 2028 run.

I explain why trans people are not feeling Newsom.

While his trolling of Trump is funny, Gavin Newsom's alignment with right-wing anti #trans stances are not. His posturing - coupled with the fallout between Bannon-type MAGA and Musk-type MAGA - is clearly to scoop up centrist wealthy tech bros and not run on leftist politics. Pick again #dems

The Epstein files topic must not fall into partisanship politics. That’s a distraction.

If President Trump is on the list, hold him accountable.

If there are Democrats on the list, hold them accountable.

Then, we must find out why it’s taken so long to get justice.

One thing I am seeing misreported in the media today about the Skrmetti ruling is a claim that the supreme court ruled this is "about age, not transgender status."

SCOTUS also ruled this is about "diagnosis, not transgender status"

Bans targeting adults are likely legal under this ruling.

This is genocide fuel. The "most violent domestic terror threat" cannot be dealt with civilly; they can only be annihilated. That's exactly what these fascists want - a justification for violent action against trans people.
