These executive orders on banning federally funded entities from recognizing trans people or disallowing them from using the bathroom are not self-executing or immediately enforceable. They require formal rule making at a minimum. They are a scare tactic. Ignore and do not comply in advance.

Immigration, as means of upholding colonial values and structures, is a horrid ( & wildly expensive) system to navigate. Especially here in the US.
someone with a fair amount of power over me keeps asking if i’m moving to canada and, like, no matter how many times i explain what that process looks like and that it is very likely canada (or anywhere) would not want me, they do not believe immigration could be hard.
Friends outside the country either think I am not well to stay in America or they don’t understand why we’re upset.

I cannot stop thinking about every disabled person who can’t evacuate these SoCal fires, whether it’s because they physically can’t leave or they don’t have the resources to. When we say our systems are designed to leave disabled folks behind to die, this is a prime example.
