Reminded that Butler was not a prophet, rather she was someone who paid attention. She constantly read newspapers & academic research articles on cults, climate change, racism & sexism. She saw the patterns & signs & tried to warn us.

"In hindsight, her warnings about climate change, authoritarianism, and survival feel less like fiction and more like prophecy."

Consider the possibility that today’s Nazi fascist segregationists have had plenty of time and opportunity to be inspired by American segregationism, Nazi fascism, and Italian fascism, as well as their own American Big Tech-era contributions.

Expect to see elements of all of it at work.

Exactly why I've been writing, podcasting, and damn near screaming about using the right language.

The mainstream media is failing us SO badly right now.

Stop. Calling. This. Shit. DEI.

This is (re)segregation. This is racial purging. Cleansing Black people from positions of power.
By accepting Trump’s anti-Black premise and regurgitating the narrative that equates anything Black as DEI, the NY Times has become part of the propaganda machine

It becomes another way for whiteness to extract the labor and “feel good” parts of the struggle

Because “woke” doesn’t just mean that

If it did we wouldn’t be dying around it
I understand and appreciate the sentiment I do but thats not what it means either. The idea of being aware of systemic racism being made a byword by the right only to be sanitized as general good heartedness demonstrates how concepts are drained of vigor.

Y'all pick a lane. Then make a little progress in your lane each day.

Every serious, experienced organizer I know is Doing Their Thing. Instead of freaking out about each bit of bad news, we're in our lanes rapidly building dual power infrastructure and networks that don't rely on the goverment.

DEI is a corporate term, CRT is a legal framework, Black Lives Matter was a political slogan, Staying woke was a colloquialism. It’s not individual terms at fault here, people aren’t being confused into racism.

Telling folks to just "plug in to community" rn is well-meaning and if you can do that, wonderful. But most people are not super connected to community for many reasons. So, if you don't have community rn that's ok, consider finding 2-5 ppl you can form a pod with.
