losing tierna hurts for several reasons. she's had awful injury luck in her career so this, just when the davidson-girma CB pairing was becoming our strongest in a while, feels extra cruel. she's also one of the last connections to the uswnt's off-pitch legacy, which appears to be waning.

My new year's resolution is to stop relying on an arbitrary time period to change and if I wanna change then every day is a new chance to change and if I didn't manage to do what I want, oh well, tomorrow's another chance to try again
