you can learn so much about a player character from what they have the capacity to say, what they *might* say, but choose otherwise. it's something only novels can do as elegantly and effectively.

Checking in half a year later: another side quest folded into a MQ, some overly optimistic estimates retracted, some goalposts (such as the 50% completion mark) surpassed. Looking likely I'll complete another 2-3 quests before January. All goes well, 2026 will be the year 🤞

Just finished the storyline of Dead Island 2, set on the famous island of Los Angeles, and it gave me a great idea for a game: a Dead Island / Dying Light type zombie hack-and-slash where what story there is doesn't catch fire and implode in the final act. Starting to feel like a genre curse

Out of the big German shows of the past 10 years or so, I never quite got the hype around 'Dark' and couldn't stand 'How to Sell Drugs Online', but two seasons deep into 'Babylon Berlin' I actually can't believe it's not more popular. This show is *really* fucking good!

Working solo on a larger gaming project requires such a stupid amount of time & labor. I love the creative freedom I have and am confident in the quality of my work, but for future projects after Westside Story I need to practice aggressive scope control from day 1 and/or get collaborators on board.

Since I'm stuck at home with a cold, I dedicated the day to kitbashing Thespis Hall, a ruined theater, out of 3 or 4 different tilesets that weren't really meant to be used this way but proved unexpectedly cooperative in the process!
