Please notice here that the president has got it exactly backwards: the president of the United States is subordinate to the people of the United States. The only people subordinate to the president are employees of the executive branch, which the reporter is absolutely not.
Q: Why wait for Congress to release the Epstein files? Why not just do it now?

TRUMP: It's not the question that I mind. It's your attitude. I think you're a terrible reporter. It's the way you ask these questions. You start off with a man who's highly respected asking him an insubordinate question

The best James Bond movie is "The Man from U. N. C. L. E."
This is obviously bait, but also, the best Star Trek movie is Galaxy Quest

They told us to stop counting votes. It is unforgiveable.
i don't think that bush v. gore is the *worst* ruling in the history of the supreme court, but i do think it is the most openly *corrupt* ruling in its history. a real disgrace.

A lot of the surface decoration in a salt firing is a result of salt vapor moving through the kiln, and since I always liked the varied surface from the updraft kiln, I though to build the saggars shown above around the pieces I fired in this kiln, so the interaction of salt and surface was varied.

In a downdraft kiln, the fuel and fire enters at the bottom of the kiln and exits at the bottom, where it goes up a chimney. The result is a more homogenous atmosphere within the kiln.

In the updraft kiln, the gas path follows the heat, and the effect is more like a flame: rising unevenly as it burns.

This kiln is a downdraft kiln. The difference is in how the burning gasses move through the kiln.

I fired a salt kiln a lot starting in 1992 and ending in 1993, but it was an updraft kiln.

The Bay Model in Sausalito is worth the trip for sure. It is a science/engineering project on a grand scale with welcoming touches, like the colored landscape, not just the shape of the land, and it's always got flowing water, which makes it a very meditative space.
Going through the 800+ photos I took on my trip and totally forgot to post about this awesome experience.

If you're ever in the Bay Area, go visit the Bay Model in Sausalito! It's a true-to-life hydraulic model of the Bay/deltas that the Corps built in the 50s to study water movement. It's so cool.

I want all my heavyweight publishing industry people to know that Mr. Davis has a positive vision of culture that demonstrably moves units.
I am available to write about culture for your publication. Most of my clips are about post-45 poetry but don’t let that scare you.

It's easy to enforce a rule that rhymes
If the sandwich don’t split, you must acquit
Defense says that the officer's testimony was "very questionable" because he said the sandwich both exploded in spray of mustard and onions and also landed in its wrapper on the ground.

Every time one of these mass murderers dies without having faced any consequence for the massacres they ordered, the lives they destroyed, the societies they razed to the ground… I realize how far we are from a world with justice. Rest in hell Dick Cheney. Your legacy is death.
