Ah, the problem is not that we fail to provide everyone with adequate housing or services for people with addiction, the *real problem* is that the rest of us are forced to see the results of these things, under the label "social decay". Got it.
"The longer visible signs of social decay are allowed to fester, the more inclined those with means will be to simply check out ... leaving those without the ability to relocate to deal with playgrounds littered with drug paraphernalia." www.theglobeandmail.com/opinion/arti...
Opinion: We have normalized delinquent, disorderly behaviour in our cities for too long
There is nothing normal about an encampment forcing toddlers in the daycare next door to stay inside

have you ever posted so bad that the Supreme Court of Canada told you to go to therapy and then the province of Alberta made a whole law about how you have to be allowed to post that bad?

This week, I withdrew from a speaking engagement at a public university because they sent me a list of prohibited “words & concepts.” I will not humor this censorship. It does a disservice to the stories I’m discussing & the audience, who deserve unfettered access to information & conversation.

It is Transgender Day of Remembrance and I am thinking about my sister Cael, who died by suicide in 2022.

She made the choice she made for many reasons, but one of the strongest factors was how brutally she was treated by the world as a trans woman.

I miss her very much. I wish she was still here.

An incident in a locker room has always been key to Riley Gaines’ anti-trans fame.

But @msjpauly.bsky.social spoke to swimmers who were present at the same 2022 meet. They shared a very different narrative.
How right-wing superstar Riley Gaines built an anti-trans empire
The swimmer tied a trans woman for fifth. The MAGA industrial complex took care of the rest.

Danielle Smith's Alberta government has announced that they will use the Notwithstanding Clause to protect three laws (all targeting trans people) from court challenges.
