The Senate should make Todd Blanche go on record today to assure us that the DOJ he leads will comply with court orders. He was a respected SDNY prosecutor who knows our system is built on the rule of law and that defying the courts is crossing the Rubicon. Making that pledge should be easy for him.
Todd Blanche—Trump’s former criminal defense attorney—is set to have a confirmation hearing on his nomination for deputy attorney general tomorrow morning at 10:15 am.

I’m actually in favor of slimming down the US government, substantially. But the notion that the way you do this is just by going in and pulling wires out of the walls courts a real disaster.
