Several sources tell me a passel of high profile tech and also finance leaders is making a trip to Mar-a-Lago to read Trump the riot act — um talk common sense — to him on the tariffs. Their million dollar donations to the inauguration is turning into billions in losses.

The scary thing is, I used to have stocks in the first three until December last year when I withdrew it for some payables. I was so sad when I had to pull out everything because I did well with my choices at that time

December was just FOUR months ago. Life is truly unpredictable....
I just opened my iPhone’s Stocks app for the first time ever and I gotta say, not sure I’m glad I did.

Speaking of which, I currently have an opportunity to work in an American region but with the way things are going, I'm... not going to be hasty in gathering the required documents 😅

OK, so the hiccup we had at work is done and my world is back to semi normal.

Just how many live adaptations does The Count of Monte Cristo actually need?
February 19, 2025 at 1:40 PM
If there's one Live Action adaptation I'd highly recommend, it would be Stephen King's 11.22.63

In fact, both the novel AND the TV mini-series are worth consuming. It's memorable, gripping and surprisingly emotional (iykyk)

Not really traumatized but back when I was 10, I randomly picked up this book at school. Went into it blind, no expectations, didn't even read the blurb.

The result?
Me ugly crying inside the school library 😂

I remember the older students were so worried bc wtf happened lmao

It was expected considering the previous closure of the Chinese servers, but I'm still sad when I read the End Of Service announcement posted today by the gacha mobile game The Tale of Food

I was a Day One player and had genuine fun playing it despite the old-school design and the daily grind.

It's non-fiction time!
Now Reading: Genghis Khan and the Making of the Modern World by Jack Weatherford.
The introduction alone is already a treasure trove of trivia, I'm having so much fun. History books never disappoint.

I've worked in a bookstore before and I kinda get it. Some customers will avoid display copies bc they want perfect ones to be THEIR display copy at home.

They'll then buy a second copy for the actual reading.
A customer refused to buy the copy of the book they wanted from our shelves because they “don’t buy display copies.” Not sure they know how bookshops work. 🤷‍♂️

In an ideal world, Kim Saeron would've had the support and guidance of responsible adults and could've improved herself without the excessive cyberbullying.

She was so so young 💔

If you want a wholesome, fluffy romance movie, please watch The Gorge (2025). Miles Teller and Anna Taylor Joy are so cute together.

Walked past our neighbor's gate, glanced inside for a second, and accidentally locked eyes with their Great Dane. I felt my soul left me for a second 😂😂😂

I've been intentionally slacking off for the past few days.

I've been on leave since Wednesday, but my mom works on weekdays, leaving me home alone for 3 days.....so there’s NO way I’m reading two horror anthologies by myself!

I love the genre but I'm also a scaredy cat 🤣

Currently watching old vids of European restaurants and there's one thing that's common among them and it's the ashtrays.

Oh godd so many ashtrays...

This morning was chaotic, there had been rumors about the death of a major Taiwanese star, then it was cofnirmed that Barbie Hsu has passed away.

She's an Asian superstar whose hard working and resilient attitude will always be remembered.

May you always be happy, wherever you are now 😭

This was trending on Twitter recently and I initially only saw the first picture, so I was naturally confused at the backlash this edition is getting, because it looks alright? Why are people angry?

THEN I saw the actual covers...Who thought this was a good idea?? 😅
February 1, 2025 at 12:26 AM
Now Reading You Like It Darker by Stephen King. I'm not actually sure if this is indeed a horror anthology, I'm going into this blind and I just assumed lol.

I've always been a King fan tho, his short stories had never once disappointed me so I have high hopes for this one.

If you spit in the wind, it blows back in your face.
Colombia’s President announces they will raise tariffs on U.S. imports in response to sanctions from Donald Trump.

TIL Reader’s Digest still exists.
I guess an old tweet from a year ago made it into the February 2025 issue of Reader’s Digest? My HS German teacher just emailed to let me know… 🤣

Beauty Inside (2015) will forever remain as one of my most favorite movies of all time. It's low-key due to the romance genre and plot, but it's definitely ambitious.

Funniest shit I've read today 🤣

The title reminded me of a line that went viral on Twitter a few years back, because us Southeast Asians collectively agreed it's a sound advice for tourists:

If you hear someone calling your name at night, you didn’t
I cannot recommend this book enough, NEVER WHISTLE AT NIGHT ed by @shanehawk.com is my all time favorite anthology. A little bit of everything-ghosts, folklore, creatures…and the best part, I found a lot of new authors to read! You need this #booksky 📚
