Trying to keep elite grifter politicians honest or at least letting people know when they are not honest.
George Conway: "I fought Trump publicly in every way I could, and I paid a price."

He doesn't explain what that price is. Is it that he is no longer married to Kellyanne Conway? That he had to spend a lot of time in TV studios?
I’m running for Congress in NY-12, my home.

We have a demented, criminal president running the country like a mob operation—government by the boss, for the boss.

We need Democratic fighters who will defend the rule of law and deliver government by the people. Join us.

Zohran Mamdani makes a reasonable statement on people chanting "Say it loud, say it clear, we support Hamas here.", and he gets bunch of criticism here.
As I said earlier today, chants in support of a terrorist organization have no place in our city. We will continue to ensure New Yorkers’ safety entering and exiting houses of worship as well as the constitutional right to protest.

Graham Platner: "I can’t tell you how many guys I know get disability of some form who have no need for it, and who will openly admit in closed circles they gamed it for the cash."
Graham Platner Really Might Be Doomed. Pay Attention to Him Anyway.
The candidate embodies a quarter-century of raw American frustration. It’s the source of his strength — and potentially his downfall.

The House discharge petition to have a vote on a bill to prevent members of Congress from trading stocks now has 76 of the 218 signatures needed.

14 Republicans and 62 Democrats have signed on.

If your Representative hasn't signed on, now would be a great time to contact them about this.

Molly Jong-Fast is responsible for George Conway's carpetbagging campaign:

"The idea for Conway’s congressional race came from his friend, MSNOW commentator and journalist Molly Jong-Fast"

"Jong-Fast suggested the open seat in New York, and Conway said he quickly embraced the idea."

What happens to a discharge petition signature if the House member resigns?

Marjorie Taylor Greene is still listed as one of the 75 signers of the House discharge petition to have a vote on a bill to prevent members of Congress from trading stocks.

Considering that Zohran Mamdani ran on doing things that the mayor of NYC doesn't have the power to do, it isn't surprising that he is going to keep claiming he is able to do those things.

If those things don't happen, will his supporters make excuses or hold him accountable?
Mamdani: I have been told that this is the occasion to reset expectations, that I should use this opportunity to encourage the people of New York to ask for little and expect even less. I will do no such thing. The only expectation I seek to reset is that of small expectations.

Shouldn't a story like this have been written before the election?
Will Zohran Mamdani make NYC progressive paradise? There are obstacles.
Mamdani ran on an ambitious progressive platform, but enacting it faces hurdles in the City Council and state government.

Ro Khanna's rhetoric is absolutely a problem. He keeps claiming that Trump administration officials could be prosecuted over the lack of release despite the obvious ability for them to be pardoned. He doesn't even address that possibility.
An advocate for survivors sent this to me with utter disgust. I have never heard of Ankush Khardori. He had the gall to say tonight that ⁦Rep.Thomas Massie & I, 427 Congress members, and 100 Senators are wasting America's time because there is no cover-up.

This is quite the headline: Graham Platner holds lobbyist-studded DC fundraiser

Less taking on the DC establishment and more taking the DC establishment's money. While lying about it to Mainers.

It's good to be able to do quick math with population sizes:
"Nearly $7B couldn't..."

$7B is nothing. Over 160M taxpayers in the USA. That's > $45 per taxpayer. Not a lot of money!

Kamala received 75M votes. $93/vote.

You hear $7B and think it's a lot of money, but for the population, it is not.

Using campaign funds to give money/goods to potential voters strikes me as inherently corrupt and seems like it should probably be illegal?

Weren’t we all up in arms about Musk basically doing this?

Guys, Kat spends this whole article pretty much arguing that the Democratic Party should operate as a mutual aid organization. Maybe it works for her but it simply makes no sense for most campaigns. It just doesn’t

Jasmine Crockett: "And I know that you mentioned the Great Depression and yeah, we're not there yet, but there are estimates from experts that think that we are on track. I mean, we've lost 1.1 million jobs since he swore in just in January. This has not been a full year."

Oh goodness.
Look, everything about Trump and his Administration has made it harder for the American people.

Costs are up. Jobs are gone. People are fed up.

Cameron Kasky: "And that's pretty hard to do if you haven't spent your career working for or sucking up to other rich people"

This guy is 25 and doesn't appear to have much in the way of a job.
Candidate fundraising call time is one of the most demoralizing, radicalizing experiences in politics.

@cameronkasky.bsky.social — who is running for the seat Jerry Nadler is retiring from — shows what it’s like to raise money as a candidate, in an effort to push more people to donate online.

Zohran Mamdani got 1,114,184 votes, so that would be about 11 votes per volunteer. That seems like a bad ratio.
In less than a week, I will be sworn in as the next mayor of New York City. It was only possible because of the more than 100,000 people who volunteered on our campaign. Here’s a story about one of them, my mother.
