Teaching to test has been a by-product of Gove's 'reforms' and something I do not miss since leaving the classroom. Now my job is to support the mental health of A Level students who have suffered the negative effects of an unforgiving education system alongside austerity. The impact is shocking.

A question requiring application would test both.

Gove single handedly destroyed much of what was good about our education system. It’s been downhill all the way since. Phillipson seems intent on continuing the obsession with ridiculous targets with no thought about supporting schools to help pupils meet them.

I was one at 59 a couple of years ago but my occupational pension was reduced to compensate. Few and far between now though and becoming more so now normal retirement age is 67 their occupational pensions too.

👍 It reminds me of the worst of education - using unfamiliar words to describe familiar things. It excludes those who are not familiar with the language being used and feel they are being looked down upon. This makes them more likely to be resentful.

At least we can start looking around. I must admit, I can’t think of anyone obvious.

Are any of those Trump women competent? Surgical augmentation and a personal stylist (hair, make up, clothes) seem to be pre-requisites for appointment rather than competence.🤷🏻‍♀️

This is about setting attendance targets. Registers are already electronic and generate data, spot patterns, contact parents, etc.

So, AI targets will be set via a standard algorithm without consideration for a pupil’s medical history, status as a young carer, SEND, exclusions, etc? Bonkers. I’m not one for mollycoddling pupils but a degree of common sense within a holistic framework are basic requirements.
