Congresswoman Sarah Elfreth
@elfreth.house.gov
Proudly representing Maryland’s 3rd Congressional District.
I’ve joined @deluzio.house.gov and nearly 20 of my bipartisan colleagues in calling to remove this language from the final bill and ensure that the Navy Reserve Center system can continue providing our sailors with the support they need. Stay tuned for our progress!

That’s why I signed onto a discharge petition to bring this vote to the House so that millions of Americans won't see their premiums skyrocket on January 1st.

I’ve joined over 150 of my Democratic colleagues across the House and Senate in urging the Supreme Court to stop the President’s illegal and abusive use of power over the National Guard against the American people in Illinois.

Despite the legislation completely ignoring the looming health care crisis for tens of millions of Americans, I will continue the fight to lower healthcare costs for Marylanders everyday of this Congress. Please see above for my full statement on my vote against the Senate Amendment to H.R. 5371.

I’m looking forward to working with Congresswoman Grijalva, and most importantly, seeing the people of Arizona get the representation our Constitution promised them.

Thank you to Pastor Matthew, First Lady Rhesa Quainoo, Bishop Davis, Pastor Robin, the volunteers, members of the Celebration Church, & everyone who donated to make this grocery store possible – your generosity shows that when we come together, we can all play a part in serving the most vulnerable.

With so many neighbors struggling to put food on the table throughout this shutdown and with the upcoming holiday season, I’m so grateful I could be at the grand re-opening to celebrate another resource to help our neighbors on their hardest days.

Thank you for organizing an incredible Veterans Day Ceremony and your dedication to honoring our veterans and their family members for nearly five decades.

Throughout this month, my team has been collecting stories from veterans here in the Third District for the Library of Congress’ Veterans History Project. Thank you to the nearly 20 veterans who were willing to share your stories and for your dedication to serving our country.

From honoring our veterans at the Howard County Veterans Day Parade to introducing bipartisan legislation to evaluate and pave the way for emerging therapy options for veterans living with the effects of PTSD – I’m committed to fighting for those who fought for our country here in Congress.

My position throughout this shutdown has always been that we can and must reach a bipartisan agreement to reopen the government, protect our federal workforce, and protect the health care of millions of Americans. The Senate deal doesn’t do that. Read my full statement above.
