I’ve joined @deluzio.house.gov and nearly 20 of my bipartisan colleagues in calling to remove this language from the final bill and ensure that the Navy Reserve Center system can continue providing our sailors with the support they need. Stay tuned for our progress!

But the Senate-passed National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) includes language to eliminate the Navy Reserve Center system – stripping the network of Navy centers that supports nearly 50,000 reserve sailors without the guidance of military leaders.

That’s why I signed onto a discharge petition to bring this vote to the House so that millions of Americans won't see their premiums skyrocket on January 1st.

I’ve joined over 150 of my Democratic colleagues across the House and Senate in urging the Supreme Court to stop the President’s illegal and abusive use of power over the National Guard against the American people in Illinois.

Despite the legislation completely ignoring the looming health care crisis for tens of millions of Americans, I will continue the fight to lower healthcare costs for Marylanders everyday of this Congress. Please see above for my full statement on my vote against the Senate Amendment to H.R. 5371.

From honoring our veterans at the Howard County Veterans Day Parade to introducing bipartisan legislation to evaluate and pave the way for emerging therapy options for veterans living with the effects of PTSD – I’m committed to fighting for those who fought for our country here in Congress.

My position throughout this shutdown has always been that we can and must reach a bipartisan agreement to reopen the government, protect our federal workforce, and protect the health care of millions of Americans. The Senate deal doesn’t do that. Read my full statement above.
