Proudly representing Maryland’s 3rd Congressional District.
It is the privilege of my lifetime to represent you all in #MD03 and while it’s been a chaotic and challenging year for so many, my team and I were laser-focused on how we can support you all on your hardest days. Here’s what the first year in our office looked like:

Having represented and worked closely with both the U.S. Naval Academy and surrounding communities for years, it is clear that a second golf course at environmentally-sensitive Greenbury Point is not mission critical or in service to our nation’s defense.

Despite the acting commandant of the Coast Guard issuing a lawful order stating the Coast Guard outright banning hateful symbols like swastikas and nooses, the USCG has quietly downgraded the definition of swastikas and nooses from overt hate symbols to “potentially divisive.”
Coast Guard under fire after new manual labels swastikas and nooses 'potentially divisive'
A new Coast Guard manual labels swastikas "potentially divisive," creating conflict with a separate order banning them outright.

Thank you to the Jewish Federation of Annapolis & the Chesapeake for organizing a lovely Chanukah celebration. After the horrific events of the weekend, it was so important to be with our Jewish neighbors and commit to spreading light, love, and acceptance after this moment of darkness.

Breaking news from the House floor: enough Republicans have signed our discharge petition to force a vote to extend the crucial ACA tax credits. They too recognize the looming health care affordability crisis our constituents are facing on January 1st if Congress doesn’t act. Stay tuned for updates!

I have always known Delegate Joseline Peña-Melnyk to be a fierce fighter for anyone and everyone in our community who needed support, an opportunity, and even a hospital bed.

No one should face sexual harassment simply for visiting their doctor. Yet, when over 80 women serving in our nation’s armed forces alleged that Dr. Major McGraw, a physician at Fort Hood & the Tripler Army Medical Center, made sexual advances towards them, leadership kept Dr. Major McGraw on staff.

It’s geothermal day in the House Natural Resources Committee. We are in the midst of an energy affordability crisis that is impacting American families across the country.

The Army-Navy football game wasn’t the only game in town this weekend! 🏒 Thank you so much, Head Coach Ashley Harper, for inviting me to drop the puck at the first Army-Navy Women’s Hockey game of the season! 🏒

234 years ago today, our nation ratified one of our most important founding documents that has protected our fundamental rights as Americans: the Bill of Rights. Today, we celebrate their enduring role in safeguarding liberty and justice as we strive for a more perfect union.

On the first night of Hanukkah, I want to wish all those celebrating in #MD03 a very happy holiday season filled with love and joy. These next eight nights and days are about bringing light to places where there has been darkness. May your candles burn bright this season.

I wouldn’t be in Congress if it weren’t for my own Ms. Crankfields. For our first Maryland Minute, I’m proud to recognize a leader who has gone above and beyond to inspire young minds: 2026 National School Counselor of the Year, Ms. Danielle Crankfield, the first Marylander to receive this honor!

No one should live in fear while practicing their faith. We mourn with Australia and condemn this violent act of antisemitism. My heart goes out to the Jewish community as families across the globe come together to celebrate the first night of Hanukkah.

Horrified by last night’s mass shooting at Brown University. My prayers are with the students, faculty, and their families during the difficult final weeks of the semester. Congress has a responsibility to pass common-sense gun safety regulation so that all student can feel safe on campus.

Earlier this week at Indian Head, I sat down for lunch with Marines to talk about how we can support their work in Congress. We talked about a wide range of issues, but one important issue came up: attending the Army-Navy game. Glad we could help these Marines make it out to America’s game! 🇺🇸

It’s not every day that Republicans join Democrats to repeal a Trump Administration Executive Order. But this week, that’s exactly what happened – and it’s great news for #MD03!

President Trump promised to lower costs from day one. Now, he has not only failed to deliver on that promise, but is openly mocking the affordability crisis. Most of us aren’t billionaires who are immune to rising prices.
At the first stop on his affordability tour, Trump mocks affordability
What was supposed to be a speaking tour to connect with Americans struggling with higher prices and stagnant wages was instead a greatest hits campaign speech.
