I've been doing tutorials on things like proc terrain generation in Godot but I can't help performing code reviews while I work on them. I'm amazed at the cool stuff people have figured out how to do but there are some bad coding practices.

My partner who lives 40 mins away drove to spend the afternoon with me before having to go back to walk her dog. It was extremely healing to spend time with them after the last couple of weeks.

Looking back at this, I wonder if I can recreate that accidental "all past selves spilling out at slightly different positions" effect on purpose...
More progress today getting some of my own art in, as well as connecting time travel to getting into and out of the Time Pod. Lots of waiting on signals from the Animation Player to get this working.

Vertical Slice is a terrible way to make a video game. It's not a solid foundation upon which to iterate, it's a necessary step to convince execs that the game will be good, but half the work on the slice often has to be undone to actually build the game.

I've lost out on two gigs this year by asking for too much money, and the most recent one was even 10$/hr less than what I would have asked last year.
At least I occasionally still get interviews, but competing with every laid off gamedev in the world is pretty brutal.
