Read that again: **116** times.

Why are we STILL having to argue the case for rewilding??

If you like giving books as gifts, and you'd like to give someone a book about hope, community, defiance and determination, I recommend "Something, Someday" by Amanda Gorman and Christian Robinson.
I recently read Something, Someday by Amanda Gorman and Christian Robinson. A powerful and poetic picture book about hope, defiance, action, allyship and change. Trying to describe it doesn’t do it justice. Just go and read it. Highly recommended.

In early 2023, we started getting flooded with "AI" generated stories. A handful of other publications (Asimov's, F&SF, Analog) were also hit to varying degrees, but (according to my 2023 survey) we were the canaries. All the rest were reporting low-to-none. This year's survey results will be uglier

Facts, respect and listening. Yes, more of that would be good in Australia also.
I'm not afraid to speak my mind about things, but there are some things I decide I didn't know enough about, others I didn't see why need to be involved, and still others where my opinion is complicated enough I'll need a 5k word essay at least to explain it.

I'm realizing one of the central narratives of the Arthurian cycle is that when the kingdom starts to decay the heroes start to ride out on a quest to find the magic thingie that will fix all their problems instead of staying home and doing the work, and that's infected a lot of fantasy fiction
