I overheard someone asking a coworker, who hails from Australia, if Australia is really like what's depicted in the Mad Max films.
That would be like watching Brokeback Mountain, and assuming the US was full of gay cowboys. Which, to be fair, would be an arguably better place than the one we have.

Both of my grandfathers were on opposing sides of WW2. My mother's father was a trainer for the Canadian army, and by father's father defected Slovakia to fight in the German army. Both were horrible bigots, one just didn't pretend not to be.
