A little bit of this... a little bit of that..

I dabble in museums, art, history, genealogy and I love a meme or two
That feeling when you *finally* break that brick wall #genealogy #familyhistory #westmiddlesex

If you don’t have a local library card, it should be your New Year’s resolution to get one. It’s an easy resolution to keep and you’ll actually use it, trust me.

Really interesting question! I get so emotionally involved in my research
Doing historical research isn’t just an intellectual enterprise; it’s emotional and embodied.

I legit almost threw up earlier this morning while researching etymology related to the year 1712.

If you’re a historian and/or do archival research, how do you handle the SHOCK of revelation?

Oh wow this is excellent
You can now browse our largest volume - this huge student register, covering 1888-1902 (SBHMS/S/2/10) - alongside the other registers in the series. Digital access will help avoid damage to the volume, which takes two people to carry it!

I sometimes am shocked to hear that not everyone knows about the GRO’s own birth and death indexes and cheaper digital certificate copies for England and Wales. Here’s some more detail. Don’t pay more than you need to!
