I just received updated restricted access NCHS natality (birth records) files through 2023. Does anyone have their code that they used to harmonize the files across years that they could share?

For #HeartMonth we're highlighting #HeartHealth researchers.

With UR CTSI pilot funding, Julie Ryan Wolf, PhD, MPH, & @elainelhill.bsky.social are examining patient 'care paths' (sequences of healthcare events) to understand racial inequities among older adults with chronic heart or lung disease.

Health #EconSky 📉📈 I am looking for someone who has worked with the CPS ASEC data and can tell me about the health insurance questions and all the ways it breaks down in 2014. Looking for advice on how to work with it. Suggest papers to read and personal experience too.

Thanks @mirya.bsky.social! See descriptives on when / where nationally salient partisan language appears in local politics (“climate change,” “gun control,” etc.). Identifiably partisan language is (1) common, (2) especially in larger cities, and (3) local D / R “slant” correlates with pres. vote.

Now that I seem to have gotten new followers interested in my editor takes,

If you're asked to do a referee report and you're not sure if you have enough time, just quickly reply to the editor that you don't have time. Do not let the request languish.

Ghosting a request is the worst option.

#thread with great grant writing tips
As a grant reviewer, what do you really wish people would do/not do?

Not big things, like find a significant question/innovative method/be consistent with aims

Little things, like bold each acronym the first time it’s used.
