truly well done and miserable movie making of the highest quality. the face smashing scene still fucks with me to this day after 1 viewing. will never watch again.

the whale falls in to the category of film that was so lauded that i just wasn’t interested in seeing it. i can’t explain myself but it’s true. maybe something about everyone just trying really hard repels me a bit awno 🤷♂️

all i know is when i saw it in the theatre it had the chest burst/hug and fall finale then somewhere along the line the end was changed and made it not as good. not sure what the deal is with that.
Assembly cut is much better than theatrical in my opinion. Think it has more Fincher stuff intact.

huh.i have watched brazil 100s of times & if you think crimes of the future is the definitive cronenberg film you have missed a lot. unless you mean future cronenberg films which is more forgivable but nah he deserves the benefit of the doubt forever. he swings and misses sometimes but he earned it.
I just watched Brazil, won’t again.
