So brutal. Danielle Smith & the oilsands’ goal is increasing production, pollution, and the cost Canadians pay for climate change - while delaying the energy transition. The opposite of winning the future.

The fact that four hostile drones tried to hit Zelenskyy’s plane & it’s barely a blip in the news cycle should terrify everyone. We’ve been dragged so deep into the chaos era that an attempted strike on a world leader doesn’t even break through. When this becomes normal, the world is in real danger.

I think @beynate.bsky.social does a great job covering all of the bases.
Grand bargains, deja vu, and why a clear-eyed ambitious climate plan is critical. Some thoughts on the Canada-Alberta MOU.

The feds are focused on a ‘critical conservation corridor’ in northwest B.C., but extraction and infrastructure appear to be central focus

I'm skeptical about how much MPs can influence Carney in terms of climate action. And this quote resonates:

“When the agreement came out someone texted me saying, ‘The only thing missing from the agreement is Pierre Poilievre's signature,’ and I went yeah, I think that sums it up,” he said.

Just a friendly reminder that the Polar Vortex is not an Arctic storm, polar hurricane, blizzard or things that comes to visit us. Lobes of its wave system can dip south into the U.S. bringing colder air. I have already seen a car commercial improperly refer to it and a major newspaper headline.

There seem to be 2 general opinions abt the MOU:

AB conservatives: The MOU gives AB everything we wanted

LPC supporters: MOU is great because Carney got pragmatic concessions from AB, but don't worry no pipeline will be built

Anyone else: The MOU gives AB conservatives everything they wanted
