Despite the fact that very rich folk tend to be generationally rich - they're pissed off about a legacy they didn't earn and weren't even alive when it was built, being devalued by someone getting something for free.

Boggles my mind.

But they didn't need to sell their souls and betray their own principles to make a buck so it's not fair.

I think the same behaviour is reflected in people who 'don't like' student loan amnesty style actions - I had to pay it off so for some reason if they don't my life is worse.

That's a question that's easy to answer. Offshore labour is cheaper. For many reasons. But that's all there is to it.

It's recognised in some industries that you need two or three off-shore folk to replace a single on-shore person, but when the cost is 5-10 times less expensive, it works out.

Yep, and it allows me to be more relaxed turning them - if I screw up a hat, I haven't blown the whole piece!

Yep, just slowly developing a style.

Your argument is odd. The problem is that the press have pushed a false narrative and people believe it. The challenge is changing their opinion, not pretending to fix a problem that isn't real.

Reform voters will never vote for Labour no matter how right-wing their policies, but right wing policies push Labour voters to Greens / LibDems, so this policy makes it easier for reform, not harder.

i.e. tax payers foot the process bill, and then the tax man loses out once the individual is deported.

Is there any cost analysis of managing the process for up to 20 years per refugee, vs. not doing that, esp. given they're likely to be creating wealth while working and deporting them when home is 'safe' is removing that wealth creation?

Changed the main enemy in a campaign I was running because the player theory was much better than mine (added my own twists, my own feel, but they worked out who it was using sound logic, so who was I to deny them).

LLMs by their design cannot function as search engines and cannot cite their sources because they don't do any analysis or synthesis.

"LLMs can only produce an amalgamation of a response that takes the form of text. They create a generic imprint of a response that appears coherent" (Williams, p34)
