Snowmen, have 10 spindles, get two from each spindle, going for 20 and improving with each one.

Well, I turned while I wasn't in the right frame of mind, and ruined my nice cherry bowl. The first time it came off the chuck and whacked me hard in the arm was the lesson. The second time it came off the chuck was just me being stupid.

It's funny how you forget stuff, turns out I've even painted some of them.

I just checked some photos, turns out I missed out a word.

Badly.

Badly undercoated. (And it seems I did glue some together)

And then some finished shots. Really pleased with this, not easy for me to get big chunks of wood and make deep bowls, so really happy with how this came out.

Video after I trued it up.

Second-turned the big piece of cherry that I'd turned wet a while back. This video is the amount of warping before I trued it up.

Love those too! Need to get back to this before it warps and goes out of round.

MyFirstMushroom

A test mushroom, first one I've turned, from a wormy piece of tulip I think.

Spalted beech pot, commission for a friend, trying to make two the same although the second turned out thinner with a different curve, so may try again. It's more finished than this now but I don't have a picture.

A while since I posted anything I'd made. Am really happy with this pen pot. This is twice turned from wet cherry. I turned the piece to about an inch thick originally, and then about a month or two later, turned this.

So I stood the needle case in it, held above the bottom of the cup the resin was in. And then i turned away the excess, and I've now got a needle case with a purple resin base. Quite pleased!

One of my earliest full fails in turning, was when I parted off (cut off) this needle case above the point I'd drilled - essentially making it into a thick straw (first two shots).

The BBC could have run with 'cooking in the shower' and 'abused when going to the pharmacy' but they chose these instead.

This piece of laburnum just wouldn't turn smooth, kept plucking grain out in the dark sections. Gave up trying to get it cleaned up and just finished turning it anyway. It's smooth (well, lumpy) but white flecks throughout the dark section where the grain is torn. #woodturning

Turned some wet cherry which arrived today, it'll probably crack (base is too thick). It's the first time I've had a really strong smell when turning cherry - it literally smelled like cherry pie. #woodturning

It does have valid DNS records (i.e. a mail server can lookup how to send mail to qq.com)

So it's more likely the service you are using is refusing to send it or has it blocked.

Looking around, a lot of providers just block qq.com because it's considered a source of massive volumes of spam.

Super happy with it now - although I don't actually like the wood. Love the box and the weight of the lid, but the wood is so-so.
