If I had died the same way, he would have called it an acceptable cost. If my child had died he would have said your empathy was a failure. If my friends died he would have blamed it on a trans woman or a black man. I refuse to be sad for him.

Isn't it funny how the party that spawned QAnon conspiracies that politicians were buying underage children just voted to block the release of the names of politicians buying underage children? If they had nothing to fear, this would serve only to energize their most fanatical supporters.

I found out that one of my late dad's friends was arrested for harassing and threatening people at my tiny hometown's No Kings. He's worked at the county jail for decades. He was always a funny guy and he was so sweet at dad's funeral. Fascism and hatred hide behind friendly faces.

I'm exhausted. I've been job hunting for three months. I have enough in the bank for one more mortgage payment, assuming I don't pay anything else. And outside my house is a fascist nightmare. I'm still going because my kid needs me to.

Laid out my five-year plan yesterday. The goal is to have about half of my property actively producing food. Getting phase one of the garden (for salsa and pasta sauce) in this year. Planted raspberries and apples. Already have blueberries and currants. Goals are good.
