Old-school community organizer. I helped vanquish a few slumlords and helped a few tenants take over their buildings. A sentence a day, on a good day.
If you're on the streets, you're not in the corridors of power, and if you're not in the corridors of power, the @nytimes.com doesn't think you really matter

Congratulations to Duffy for accidently using the phrase "begs the question" correctly.

I’m sorry I just can’t

This administration is certainly fascist-curious, and the people living in that apartment building in Chicago that was raided got a taste of fascism, but the fact that we can have this discussion here means we're not quite there yet. We still have the scope to work to fight it.

This sounds like an intro to a history of the Thirty Years' War

All you need to do, is call the GOP and complain. Are your costs about to go up? Are you angry about cost of living? Mad they're not improving things in your state? Mad they chose ego over the health of Americans?

It's your time.

Being able to pound out 600 or 700 words on any topic whether or not you know anything about it seems to be all you need

That’s what memoirs are, you know: memories, backward looking by definition, a record of the past one has lived, revealing what others weren’t privy to. That’s where their value lies. I can’t really find where the value lies in Michelle Cottle’s thoughts on the matter

I don’t think there’s been an NYC mayor so irrelevant since Vincent Impellitteri

This can be generalized to say "promote US billionaires' interests" and then qualified by adding "provided they make him a gesture of support"

The hottest summer day in any other station in the system is like a springtime morning in an Alpine meadow compared to the 100 ft deep #1 platforms at W 168th St.

Well, if "governing experience" includes harassing women and taking bribes, I guess they're right

The @nytimes.com frames this here the way the NY Post would, but with quiche and white wine instead of pizza and beer

We’ve now discovered that a free press owned by billionaires is not really free

Of course if you repeated any of these things to your average Trump supporter they’d look at you blankly as if to say but aren’t all of these things obviously true? — which is why none of our horror we feel reading this list makes any sense to them at all

Well said. If you want to describe Kirk in one word, that word is hatemonger, or, if you need two words, professional hatemonger. No accurate description of him should leave any other impression.

So you agree they prosecuted him. I was worrying about your grip on reality. You clearly don't appreciate how long it takes to prepare a complicated federal case. But put the blame where it lies: on the Supreme Court and Aileen Cannon. If they had behaved constitutionally, Trump would be in jail.
