This is not law. It couldn’t withstand legal scrutiny.

Don’t comply in advance university presidents. General counsel, don’t panic. Do law, not vibes.
Real question. What is an “illegal protest”? Real question. He was convicted of a crime. Why hasn’t he been expelled?

these terminations are good evidence that this is just wanton destruction by deranged ideologues. there is no rhyme or reason other than whatever makes sense to a bunch of zoomer nazis and their bosses and enablers
The U.S. has two tsunami warning centers, both operated by NOAA. Employees were terminated from these centers today. The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center covers Hawaiʻi, and now it is less safe to be near the beach.

"we didn't lay off firefighters!!!"

no you laid off all the people who plan firefighting operations and feed, support, and pay the firefighters over weeks and months in the field.

the unsung heroes of wildland firefighting are - just like in the Army - the logistics folks. no tail, no teeth.

“Why do I need NOAA? I’ve got a weather app.”

Is equivalent to asking

“Why do I need farms? I can go to the supermarket.”

It's literally impossible to run the National Weather Service without talking to foreign partners.

For example, the National Hurricane Center in Miami shares data with other nations in the Caribbean constantly to forecast storms. Everyone benefits.

Weather doesn't stop at the borders.

Here's another example of something the federal government funds (and you might not know about) that is needed by emergency managers to effectively do their jobs.
The National Significant Wildland Fire Potential Outlook is updated on the first workday of every month. The outlook offers a best guess as to where in the country we will see high fire danger. It's based on a lot of climate data, including work from NOAA's Climate Prediction Center. 1/
