Can't help but wonder how this game would have looked without the 3 week layoff, because the team that showed up tonight played terribly

Clear penalty not called. Full arm extension. The fix is in

Today started so well with the NLD and it's just gone downhill ever since

Good morning you fine and beautiful people. Today it's an extremely important double header.

The Philadelphia Eagles in the late NFL window vs. the Dallas Cowboys, and then the Philadelphia Union in the MLS playoffs vs. NYCFC.

Go Birds. #DOOP.

Ernst Tanner’s representation just issued this statement to The Inquirer:

The statement mirrors what we already heard reports of earlier in the day: MLS has re-opened the investigation into Tanner, who the Union have placed on leave while the investigation is conducted #DOOP

In soccer, more than one thing happens at once.

I have also been working for a few days on a #USMNT World Cup roster projection. Now that the team's games are done for the year, it's ready to go.

Here's who I think is in right now, and who's on the bubble:

Projecting the USMNT’s World Cup roster after its last game of the year: Several locals in; surprises on the bubble
From Aaronson to Zendejas, here's our in-depth look at the leaders and contenders at every position. Manager Mauricio Pochettino has just two games left, in March, before the World Cup team is set.

The Union have put sporting director Ernst Tanner on "adminstrative leave" while MLS reopens an investigation into his alleged misconduct.

"MLS has advised the Union that it will be reopening the investigation and the Union continues to cooperate fully," the team says in a statement.

More to come.

NEW: Following our @us.theguardian.com investigation, Major League Soccer is reopening its own investigation into Philadelphia Union sporting director Ernst Tanner.

The club says Tanner has since been placed on leave.

The allegations against Ernst Tanner reported by @mlsist.bsky.social are many and serious.

Now to see what further outcomes there will be.

Union sporting director Ernst Tanner is accused of racist, sexist, and homophobic behavior
A report in England's Guardian newspaper cites allegations from the MLS Players Association and other sources. Tanner's lawyer has denied the claims, but MLS has sanctioned Tanner twice.

If Trusty and McKenzie were always going to start one of these games, kind of a shame it wasn't home in Philly

Pablo has done some stellar work here. I hated reading every bit of it- because any sane, rational person should hate what Tanner is alleged to have said/done- but it's important to read. This kind of behavior has no place in the game #DOOP
NEW: Ernst Tanner has built a powerhouse at the Philadelphia Union.

But my @us.theguardian.com investigation has shown wide-ranging allegations of misbehavior throughout his 7-year tenure.

Tanner denies the allegations, and was investigated by MLS this year.

Love to see Kyra Cooney-Cross finally getting a start for Arsenal. Still a little surprising how little rotation there's been over the past several games? Big chance to rebound and show out in the North London Derby
