What kind of data does PRAMS track?

PRAMS is the only national survey dataset dedicated to pregnancy and the postpartum period. It asks questions about breastfeeding, PPD, safe sleep practices, abuse and more.

“It all begins with maternal and child health.” So many critical programs just being destroyed. We need track outcomes to know how and where to intervene. We need support programs for vulnerable families. This is a wrecking ball to our national health and well-being.

This is what happens when you play political games with science funding. We lose knowledge and talent and research programs in progress. It harms all of us.
Yes. My husband is an NIH-funded scientist studying infectious diseases such as whooping cough, covid, & influenza. The current grant funding his salary runs out of money this summer; a delay in grant reviews means he won’t get a new grant funded before then. He’ll lose his job.

This. Parent mental health a building block for long-term developmental and mental health outcomes in children. If you care about the future of kids, you need to take care of their parents now.
"41% of parents say that most days they are so stressed they cannot function and 48% say that most days their stress is completely overwhelming" from the U.S. Surgeon General Advisory on the Mental Health and Well-Being of Parents www.hhs.gov/surgeongener...

my favorite Miss Manners column (from 2002) was on my fridge for years and it finally gave up the ghost. found it to print it out again, and it seemed selfish not to share.

We left X and joined Bluesky because those against our parks said, “If you don’t like it, leave.” So we did. And now they’re saying, “No, come back so we can say mean things to you—it makes us feel important.”
