Provocative @smidtheart.bsky.social #cardiology grand rounds by Rita Redberg who highlights the low bar set for @fda.gov approval of medical devices. Hard clinical endpoints in adequately powered trials sorely lacking. No wonder investors prefer devices over drugs or novel biological therapies!

In an effort to pretend life is normal and we can just talk science, our #journalclub today featured Liz on the lasting epigenomic traces of #obesity; Diana on ML-directed #protein #evolution; and James critiqued #iPSC #cardiomyocyte sheets. A welcome distraction from the prevailing woes about NIH.
