“Thirty years ago, nobody had bottles of water. You had a drink from the tap when you got home and suddenly we were persuaded that you can’t go 10 minutes without being thirsty. This is a derangement. Millions of plastic bottles everywhere, as if being thirsty was a terrible affliction" - Ian McEwan

“Indeed, they barely feature in the government’s open evidence.”

Unthinkable just 10 years ago:

Almost 3/4 of the EU’s electricity in 2024 was from renewable energy sources and nuclear.

Gas and coal electricity generation is at record low levels.

The nerd in me had to work out the best value to get from my McDonald's reward points. Apple pies and medium fries are a bad way to spend them compared with Big Macs and Veg Delux! @martinlewis.moneysavingexpert.com

People are worried about Trump’s trade war and want to know what they can do to help.

The Government should launch a campaign to encourage people to Buy British and support our high streets, as part of a national effort to back British businesses.

I hate that service charges have crept up to 12.5% as standard in restaurants these days. If you think your staff are worth the money then pay them correctly, put the prices up on your menu and say that no tips are required or asked for.

Tipping culture is toxic.
