We should NEVER trivialise any suffering. Ever. Toxic positivity asks you to do this.

This woman was an observer when ice was arresting her Somali neighbors who are legal citizens. She was arrested and her legs kept in shackles for 5 hours and they CUT OFF her wedding ring when they were processing her. It is so appalling. In Minneapolis my hometown.
