1. This is a thread on freedom, and how easy it is to lose.

Over the past 2,000 years in Europe, there have been few periods and places of freedom. For much of the time we lived under highly oppressive tyrannies of various kinds, whether small or grand, local or imperial, secular or religious.🧵

Apt that he retains the mountbatten name given the guy was a raging nonce.
"These censures are deemed necessary, notwithstanding the fact that he continues to deny the allegations against him" is quite a sentence.

He has asked us to repeat his denials, and while it is a fact that he does continue those denials, the King does not believe them [and nor does anybody else]

Rachel Reeves is toast, same as Angela Rayner was. Opportunity for a bit of a change of fiscal direction with whoever is unfortunate enough to be her successor?

They're… demolishing some of the East Wing of the White House, where the Presidential Emergency Operations Center nuclear bunker is, to then build a monstrously gaudy ballroom… damn near on *Top* of where the Presidential Emergency Operations Center nuclear bunker is.

Is that… do i have that right?

The US is no longer an ally of Europe.

Say it again, slowly, appreciate the consequences and start planning accordingly.
Dutch intelligence suspends sharing arrangements with the US after concluding that high level intel was routinely being shared by the White House with their friends in the Kremlin.
More European countries will follow.

🚀 @greenparty.org.uk has grown from 58,000 members in December to 86,000 today.

Six years ago, consistently polling around 2%. Now, above 10%.

Green councillors leapt from fewer than 200 to nearly 900.

Green MPs from one to four.

This is the beginning.

@gwr.com you really, really need to get this sorted. BTM bound trains always come in at Platform 2 but this is the second time the display board and app have been incorrect. It causes a nightmare for some passengers especially at a station with ableist infrastructure.

This is abhorrent environmental vandalism from Labour.

There is no justification for expanding airports in a climate emergency.

Labour should get on with building new railway lines - including HS2 in full - instead.
