The irony that Native people, original inhabitants of this land, now are forced to prove we are legal citizens of this land! The SAVE Act is bullshit for that reason alone, but also because tribal IDs do not meet the requirements of the bill stating “place of birth.”

In mid-January I started as Advocacy Manager at the multifaith/multipractice environmental justice organization Earth Ministry/Washington Interfaith Power & Light. This is my first major contribution to their work, intended to be used to leverage this Saturday's protests.
If you are going to a protest, consider amplifying your attendance and help capture the power of these protests. This helps to begin build sustained movements at the local level - one that can get stronger over time and build momentum across more Washington cities.
