Good morning to Brazilian reporter Manuela Borges, who’s been waiting eleven years for this petty moment. ❤️ 🇧🇷

"It was partly inspired by ‘Do The Strand’ on the Roxy Music album, For Your Pleasure, and we thought that was quite funny. In our own mad world, we created a dance which was obviously anti-fascist'

Kirby Air Riders acquired! The original on Gamecube is probably one of my most played games of all time - I can’t believe after all this time they’ve made a sequel, and now I’ve got it!! I’m so excited!!!!

After my 12 year old iPod Touch finally packed in recently, I picked up a modern audio player to replace it & decided on a FiiO JM21. I’m really liking it! It’s cheap, cute, runs Android so you can download streaming apps like Bandcamp, runs off a micro SD (I got 256gb), it’s just dead good!

Billie Piper announced as the new BBC Director General but we've got to wait until next Christmas to find out why.

I’ve just seen Bugonia and I think I really loved it. A sort of weird mashup of K Pax and Get Out - it was funny and incredibly tense and pointed and gory and I think just really really good. I just wholly enjoyed it

The only surprise in this article is the fact that there’s THREE separate anti-trans groups within Labour?! Surely they must just all be the same few bitter people. Bizarre.

Labour under pressure over delays to EHRC trans guidance - LabourList
The Labour government has been accused by gender-critical groups of slow-walking guidance for schools and businesses following the Supreme Court ruling on the definition of a woman.

Today I unknowingly sold Chris Riddell a pencil, and after about half an hour he came back, popped his head round the corner of the shop, gave me & my colleague 3 A4 drawings just saying “These are for you!” and disappeared 🤯

Asylum seekers, housed in hotels in Manchester, are reaching out in their own words to address the concerns of the local community.

Please take a minute to read their letter, & share it with the people in your life who need to hear the truth about the people they are protesting.

Is it just me, or is Google Maps completely clapped nowadays for public transport directions? It’ll recommend taking 3 different buses when you could just take 1 bus & walk 10 minutes - OR tell you to walk half an hour and take a bus, when you could get a bus really nearby! Totally bizarre.

Just a few episodes in to my first ever watch through of Buffy, and so far my thoughts are mostly about how much I love Giles

I'm leaving my day job soon, but one of the cool things about it has been helping midwife stuff like this excellent blog on the Hancock Museum condor, a bird kidnapped from Chile in the 1880s who spent the rest of her life being gawped at by Geordies and glumly trying to bite children's fingers off

I had a really vivid dream last night that I got two new ear piercings and I was really freaked out to wake up this morning without them. So now maybe I need more piercings, I guess

I’ve seen like, four different events today that I’d like to go to, all happening on the evening of Sat 22nd November! What gives??!

Last night Jenny & started watching Buffy for the first time - it’s one of these series that I’ve always meant to watch but somehow never got round to. We’ve only watched the first episode so far but it was really fun! I’m excited to watch more

My next walking tour is coming up fast, on Sat 18th October! It’s a departure for me - this time, rather than modernist architecture, I’m taking people around the Town Moor to learn both about its history, but also the history and politics of land ownership.

My apparently waterproof Fitbit - which I’ve had for 2 and a half years - died immediately on entering the sea last week, and turns out they only provide a single year’s warranty, so that’s that I guess. Insane for something like that to only have a one year warranty?!
