So the Trump administration has ordered attacks on (at least) two foreign sovereign territories without Congressional approval this year.

This is exactly what I (and many others) said would happen after Iran.

He experiences no consequences, so he escalates.
Exclusive: The CIA carried out a drone strike earlier this month on a port facility in Venezuela, sources told CNN, marking the first known US attack on a target inside that country. This is the attack Trump has repeatedly alluded to in recent days. www.cnn.com/2025/12/29/p...

In a small breath of reprieve, the 9th Circuit Court has temporarily blocked a lower court ruling from a conservative judge that would have allowed teachers to forcibly out trans students to their parents.

This case will eventually have national implications.

"And I never say no"

We need to have a serious talk about the way "AI companion" apps not only prey on the vulnerable, but are priming their users to ignore consent and to conflate love with control.

We need AI regulations across so many sectors, but this area is particularly horrifying.

I've quietly watched Brynn go through this for the past year. It's absolutely heartbreaking. I'm glad she can share her story now but it's rough. She gave her life to helping people and doing medivac rescues with the California national guard and she's being tossed out line trash because she's trans

That’s more than 9x the number of trans people playing college sports nationally.

Hopefully, the courts put a quick stop to this like the subpoenas.

Confirmation that the New York Times has changed their internal style guide to cease using the term "gender affirming care" and instead use the term "gender related care."
I asked around and this does appear to be a deliberate style change. It wasn’t announced to staff, but contentious style changes often aren’t. They’re just imposed by the standards desk when they review a story. (Take that for what it is) This desk btw is run by Patrick Healy, no friend of trans ppl

Prosecute them all. Beyond the depravity of this, it's pure theft. The local prosecutor should open an investigation and charge them all.
ICE detain father shopping on Christmas Eve—then steal his family's groceries.

Then 3 agents divvy up his paid for food—taking what they want for themselves.

"Can I just get the wife's number to call and let her know?" woman asks.

"No, guess he should've complied," agent says.

Every federal Democrat in office except AOC has retreated on "Abolish ICE".

Dozens (including Markey) used to be willing to call for the elimination of ICE, but have refused to do so for the last half-decade.

Disgraceful decision by the university. They are rewarding a bad-faith grifter, and undermining the value of the degrees they award.

The paper is publicly available - it is plainly not of college quality. The instructor gave detailed explanation for the grade.

Just capitulation to the right.

I started at 59k/year when I was at NYLAG as a staff attorney representing trans asylum seekers. This kind of money to target a community like this is unimaginable to me. It's infinitely more profitable to sow hate than it is to help people.
Anti-trans demagogue and fifth place swimmer Riley Gaines earned $470,000+ last year from a conservative non-profit.

Notably, $420k was incentive-based.

A neat little window into the way the transphobic grift is being compensated.

I wonder what the per-post rate is?
