This is a must read article from Liam Thorp about growing concerns among doctors at how the NHS is using Physician Associates.

I led a debate in Parliament about the tragic death of Emily Chesterton after she saw the same Physician Associate twice & I find this deeply worrying.
The debate around the use of physician associates in the NHS is certain to be debated on this app as it was over in the other place

Last month I published this long read after speaking to Merseyside medics about their concerns

The migration of MedTwitter, along with a large cohort of science journalists, to BlueSky is striking in its scale and rapidity. In a short time, this shift has effectively transformed BlueSky into the essential hub for breaking medical news and vibrant scientific discourse.

You can’t get a GP appointment because the government won’t fund jobs. Lots of doctors struggling to find work.
Can’t get an appt with a GP?

Yet there are 1000s of GPs out of work or struggling to find work
NHS England have cut the equivalent of 2 full-time GPs in funding from an average practice, whilst funding ‘additional’ roles via ARRS

£2bn cut in real term

Not additional then🤷🏻‍♂️ youtu.be/tI69wqP1_3g?...
