Incredible how thoroughly Democrats got played here. Spent four years following through on a Trump executive order, pissed away any shot at building a real youth coalition for 2024 by alienating literally every teenager in America, lost the election, and now Trump gets to "save" TikTok. Clown shit.
In a new post from the official TikTok account, CEO Shou Chew thanked Trump for his efforts to keep TikTok available in the U.S. He characterized Trump's stance as a pro-free speech effort and touted Trump's own success on TikTok

If the ceasefire deal comes to be, the end to the bombing and starvation is undeniably a good thing. As someone who worked on the uncommitted campaign, I am proud to have worked with and stood up for my community. This “war” continuing past 10/8 was because Biden wanted it to continue

this is incredible stuff. most state DOTs would spend tens of billions on highway expansions to try and see numbers like this (that wouldn’t even pan out anyway thanks to induced demand lol)

i think rage at congestion pricing is a good example of how no one believes that the world can be positive sum anymore. like, people pay a small fee to get access to a faster commute — saving them valuable time — and the money improves public transit, saving other people valuable time. it's win-win!

folks, when you ask a chatbot about how it's programmed, it doesn't actually give you accurate answers - it gives you a series of predictive guesses drawn from a corpus of what other people have said about AI and the way you asked it. Meta's 'AI' personalities are not spilling secrets to you.

To the government agencies recording my posts:

I love America and collecting as much America points (dollars) as possible. I enjoy gas powered cars and like the smell of coal. I have also never forgotten 9/11 just like you told me. Have a nice day

an actually useful feature for Apple Intelligence would be to identify these incredibly obvious scams from the half-dozen obvious tells it's a scam and then alert the user in the summary "hey this is a scam" so obviously it doesn't do that

Even if this turns out to be true, while ideally embarrassing for him, it feels inconsequential. I’m getting pee tape vibes here. Normal people will never care about this. Let’s keep our eyes on the prize. He’s just an oligarch and we need to always remind people of that

I bet we could start turning some MAGAs to the right side of class consciousness if we referred to “the rich” as “elites”. They get pretty triggered by that word. Most of them think they could be “the rich” someday, but probably never “the elite”

Happy 2025. A year that is sure to be troubling and chaotic. We will always have each other, and we can try our best to build a better future. Remember to love your fellow worker. Be kind and tip well. Never carry water for rich folk. There will always be a different future ahead!

the other evil rich people must be mad at elon musk. they are savvy enough to pander to racists with anti-immigrant rhetoric on the one hand while behind the scenes making sure it doesn't actually manifest politically in a way that hurts their financials. he lacks the required depth for that

sorry but all this “Israel using AI in a Bad Way” reporting is just limited hang out responsibility-laundering. The “AI” angle is so no one person has the loaded gun, it’s about defusing guilt for shredding toddlers nonstop for 15 months, useful for internal and external PR and not much else
Years before the Gaza war, Israel transformed its intelligence unit into an AI testing ground, triggering a debate among top commanders about whether humans were sufficiently in the loop.
Israel built an ‘AI factory’ for war. It unleashed it in Gaza.
