I promise you, once you free yourself from the notion that other writers are your competition and start viewing them as your fellow weirdos who share similar special interests as you, your life in publishing will become so much easier.

‘IN YOUR DREAMS’ ~ Concrete Poem, Typewriter 2024

In your dreams is one of my favourite artworks. The form is simple, the text beautiful, and there is just something about it that always catches my eye.

I will never cease to be amazed by books. Seriously. Just think about it; thousands of people read the same book, but in everyone’s brain’s the characters look different, the setting changes etc. We are all reading the same thing, but it's so unique to each of us.
That is a beautiful thing.

I came here hoping for more balance less hate. Until people stop hating on Trump Musk Rogan Starmer or anyone else to blame we won't take any step forward in recognizing and understanding each other. I guess I'm looking in the wrong places to find folk who want a peaceful world for our children.

Last April I got the chance to see the California Henge in San Francisco. I could only go on Sunday since I had classes the next day but I still love what I was able to capture.

Dieselpunk 1921:

The art of Dieselpunk 1921 draws heavily from Public Domain images from around the world to give a sense of the themes of the world. This is especially true of radical propaganda from the 1910s to 1930s, with particular focus on the CNT-FAI, and IWW

My first erotic horror was rejected by 6 zines then snatched up by an anthology— sometimes it’s about timing, trends, or wishlists and not skill. We as writers need to learn the difference (and build a support team that helps you improve your work so you *know* when it’s not you.)

I've been talking in more interviews about my antipathy towards the concept of 'conflict' as the base unit of plot, and how I think Aristotle's very old idea has actually damaged us because that quickly becomes story = plot = conflict = violence.

I say that as a fan of fictional violence.

if reincarnation is real, I wonder how many people stare at their own art in museums, listen to music they made in a different life, and read books they don't remember writing.

People really get pedantic about audiobooks & saying it’s not really reading.

Just saw someone saying it engages different parts of the brain: reading = visual, listening = auditory.

But babe, my love, some of us have hyperphantasia. My visual cortex is firing all the way through that audiobook.
