In moments like these, I go to Frederick Douglass. Here are his words in a letter written after visiting Robert E. Lee’s abandoned plantation in 1863:

Mark Kelly: "This is not surprising. Here's a guy who told Americans to inject bleach into their bodies, who sent a mob to Capitol Hill. And now I think it's fair to say he stands out as singlehandedly destroying more wealth with his bad decisions than anybody else who has ever lived on this planet"

Rather than tie him to the legacy of his father in any way, I have taken to referring to Junior as “Bucky”—a portmanteau of “Bobby” and “Fucking Idiot.” Bucky Kennedy.

Seeing a lot of people talk about the #nationalboycott dates that are coming up. I'm all for effective boycotts - EFFECTIVE boycotts. One day or one week is not going to do it. Walmart can EASILY weather a 1/52 dip in revenue and go on sucking the life out of America's small towns. 1/2

Been a busy week, prepping plenty of fun Star Trek content for you :)

But I also want to take a minute to tell you - you are loved. The wider world is going to make you question that, with everything happening.

But you are loved. You are not alone. Good always wins, in the end.

You are loved ❤️

Trans people exist.

You can remove the T from any site or page that you like - you can't remove them from existence. They were here long before the current attack and they'll be here long afterwards as well.

Trans people exist. They're not going anywhere. And I'm standing with them.

They also thrive on being faux victims.
The "Just Asking Questions"/"Just Having A Conversation"/"I'm Cancelled For Just Wanting To Talk" crowd is always so short on specifics.

They love to talk in innuendo, but when it comes down to what specific rights they are OK with tossing aside, they clam up.

They also use the worst framing.
This is a deeply dishonest, inflammatory op-ed by Democrat Seth Moulton, who touts his "unimpeachable" record on transgender rights while calling trans girls boys and insinuating there aren't enough restrictions on their participation in sports.

My first friend in Massachusetts and one of my favorite humans helped build a safe house for Trans people here. For Transgender Day of Remembrance, please consider purchasing one of the amazing pieces of art the artists there created to support the house. store.lupinewood.com

Today is Transgender Day of Remembrance. Each year, the trans community loses too many lives, especially trans women of color, to hate and violence.

More than ever, we must stand by our trans family and support them, hold space for them, and insist the scapegoating and targeting stop.

Now.

My dad would've hated doing it this way, but it works, and I love the tidy lines as the leaves recede/are mulched.
