I interviewed Skobov for my hippie book, since he was the anarchist part of a hippie commune in Leningrad in late 70s. He was very sharp and very brave. He should have been a Russian Bernie Saunders. Instead he has the honour to have been imprisoned by all Russian regimes of his life time.
Today the 1st Western District Military “Court” in St. Petersburg handed its verdict to Alexander Skobov — a Russian historian, journalist, human rights activist, and Soviet-era political prisoner.

IMO, what Lockheed (and so the US gov.) needs to commit to is to establish a complete set(s) of software support infrastructure for F-35s outside of the USA - for example in the UK and Germany, which would be completely outside of the US control.

It might seem like nitpicking, but it is EXTREMELY telling about the Western perception of the "problem," the foundational stone of the current state of things.
They normalized Crimea annexation and lies around it since 2014. And then, "suddenly", everything is like that.

In Finland, commander of the Neo-Nazi Rusich unit Yan Petrovsky (aka “Vojislav Torden” lol) has been sentenced to life in prison for war crimes committed against Ukrainian soldiers in 2014, including mutilating one’s face with a kolovrat before he died, among others
"The Helsinki District Court has sentenced Voislav Torden, 38, to life imprisonment for war crimes.
The verdict was for four different war crimes, one charge was dismissed by the District Court."

A useful thread - and an opportunity to donate to Ukrainian troops who need more equipment!
🧵 My personal thoughts as a soldier who took part in Kursk operation for four months.

I want to tell you more about Russian manoeuvres and assaults at the Western flank.

Americans, if you really feel that guilty for what your government is doing, you really should start donating A LOT to Ukrainian charities and fundraisers. A lot of things, especially like drones and cars, are bought by soldiers' own pockets. You will make an effect on the course of the war.

The Trumpist regime is pursuing an ideologically defined project that doesn’t merely seek to slightly adjust U.S. foreign policy. Just like on the domestic level, they are going for regime change on the international / global level as well. A fundamentally different world order.

There is this pervasive idea that Trump doesn’t really mean it, has no real position, and can therefore be steered and manipulated by tactical and diplomatic finesse; or maybe he’s just a businessman looking for a great deal. But that’s all irrelevant here. Clinging to it is just a coping mechanism.

People who claim Zelensky was at fault yesterday and should have been more “diplomatic” or “respectful” are either deliberately propagating the Trumpist attack line – or they fundamentally misunderstand what the Trumpist project is and who is now in power in the United States.

A comprehensive acct of US aid to Ukr under Biden admin confirms what many have long said-- despite some debate, the consensus was on slow, moderate aid and escalation fears. The consensus held despite evidence ru won't widen the war as response to weapons deliveries

Biden administration, beset by doubts, slowed Ukraine weapons shipments until president’s term was nearly done
With Trump back in office, weapons supplies to Ukraine could be halted at any time. While Biden sped up deliveries after the U.S. election, his final year in office was largely marked by delays caused by congressional inaction and monthslong internal debates. Adding to the confusion was a chaotic weapons-tracking system.
