Just 2 miles from me. Almost the one filming it this time.

The new 2025 Global Carbon Budget finds that fossil fuel emissions will reach a new high in 2025. Total CO2 emissions (including land use) remain flat at 2024 levels.

While the land sink is up from 2024, carbon sinks are weakening: www.carbonbrief.org/...

Think climate change is already a political hot potato?

Just wait until people clock what's behind the cost of food going up up up

"In the five years to July, food prices increased by around 37%. That compares with a rise of 4.4% over the previous five-year period"

www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...
Why are food prices rising so fast?
Food and drink prices have risen by 4.9% over the last year, according to ONS inflation data.

We’re in a nature and climate emergency, and we welcome Ed Miliband and Steve Reed’s recognition of that yesterday.

Tackling nature and climate together is essential.

But facing the crisis means acting on it, and the latest EIP progress report is a reality check...

Quite worrying that I’ve discounted the BBC as a reliable source of news on the Israeli strikes.

As the UK and EU carve up fishing rights, I don't give a damn which party gets to trash our marine ecosystems by overexploiting fish populations, ripping up the seafloor and killing vast numbers of "non-target" animals. I just want this orgy of destruction to stop.

The vast fire on #Dartmoor should alert us to the ecological disaster there. This should not be a fire-prone landscape. Were it not for the elimination of trees by grazing, the vegetation type on the high moor would be temperate rainforest, which is extremely hard to burn. But only specks remain.

If I could give any advice to anyone struggling with the complexities of what’s happening, it’s this: get to know ONE immigrant. Get to know ONE trans person. Every issue you think is complex becomes extremely simple the moment you love someone.
