This ASHE conference owes me NOTHING.

There is NOTHING like people telling you that they cited your work in their conference presentations. It’s not something I expect. Like, you never know if people are reading your work or it’s finding the audience you’re writing for. I’m grateful and humbled.

I’m turned around from the longest day ever and also all this travel. But I made it. My bed is calling my name!

The police killing of Sonya Massey shows how disability, race, and gender converge in deadly encounters—and why we must reimagine crisis response around care, not control.

The Caribbean region & of course, Jamaica are on my mind hard. Kinda hard to focus on anything else. Praying for our friends, families, institutions, culture.

Don’t forget to take a moment for yourself outside of work. This was me, in my art studio about to dive in.

When your year 2 documents are due an entire week before normal. 🫤🙃😐😑🥴

Teary eyed and typing. Pinch me moment… working on something time sensitive & noticing there are new citations of some of my 2024 work, in papers AND dissertations?! And it’s in conversation with scholar(ship) I read and enjoy!? 🤯 from new scholars and grad students? Eventually this

LFG, Knicks!

I’m sorry but nobody is coming close to the NBA on NBC. Storytelling, packaging, production and Jordan??!! C’mon, LFG! More than mere 90s nostalgia, but entertaining and respect of the game. Also, the RR opening music still gives me chills.

Wow. A former student from 2022 just reached out to me & left me the kindest note about how much my class meant to them, & how much the learned while in my classroom & Joe much of it applies to the work they do now. The thing is, this former student didn’t know how much I needed that.

I’m working with a really frustrating IRB system and it’s actually driving me insane. None of this stuff is intuitive & it’s also very elusive. Almost seems as if it’s on purpose.

“I say regular words that are tricky to you”. Shhhhesh. Don’t even let me say that to somebody. Because it’s too far gone and up at that point. The thing is when you’re an intellectual, some folks take that to mean other things. I for one, grew up in the projects & the places og rap songs are about.

Well I can’t believe I’m hoping for Ashley to win. Vinny’s arguments aren’t strong enough, perhaps he didn’t practice his answers because he didn’t expect to be f2. #bb27

This game is so unpredictable. Morgan did all this in the last few weeks & she is the last jury player. #bb27

Vince hasn’t smiled this much in days. Wow. #bb27

I’m suddenly not sure that Ashley can pull this off against either of them in f2. #bb27
