If you have anything kind or generous to say to an early career scholar, please say it. We need it in more ways than you know. We absolutely need the encouragement. This work is not easy, especially when you really care. This is often thankless work. Some days you are worn down. But it’s all love.

God has a funny way of using anyone and anything to remind you of how He made you & what He made you for. And never late, always on time. The fellowship this year has fed me. #ASHE2025

On several different occasions today. I was told by the person or via another person, how they been engaging with my work, words, thoughts, and ideas. They come from such a deep place that I’ll never know if it means anything to anyone but me. #ASHE2025

And of course, the submission website is crawling and crashing.

Eventually this may be old hat for me, but 2nd year on the track and this means everything to me. It’s a week for encouragement, I suppose! Grateful for these signs that the work isn’t going out into the void. And yeah, please cite and share me wherever it makes sense for your scholarship! Grateful!

My goodness the season starting off with madddd double OTs already, in season opening week.

I’m grateful. Because nothing about being an educator is easy. Especially the part of your job that you love. And it’s often thankless. And discouraging. But there’s so much light in it, if you can find it. That’s the beauty I guess. It’s all a mess and at times is extremely gratifying.
