A nerd of many varieties; primarily coding, whittling and tabletop role-playing.

Married to @emilyjaneart.bsky.social, who also made my awesome logo and avatar.

Like my weird little carvings? Find my Etsy shop here: https://drrelling.etsy.com.
@chapelorahamm.bsky.social this is the only one I can find of my older scenery pieces. The goblins are apparently sacrificing my d20 on the evil altar 🤣 I don't remember what it did to deserve such a fate but it must have been bad.

I love making tiny scenery. Not sure what it's for (making the amount required for TTRPGs, even just my own game, isn't practical) but it's satisfying nonetheless! The little bottle came out especially nicely 🙂

An experiment: if you cut the crusts off a sandwich (my daughter is not a fan of crusts), try chucking them in a frying pan with a little butter to make a crunchy snack! So far I've only tried it with cheese sandwiches but I suspect jam or honey would make a nice sweet treat.

Can confirm, this book is indeed utterly deranged and also an outrageous, gory delight! Not for the faint of heart but highly recommended, it's both gleefully messy and tightly plotted, with a story that kept me guessing until the end.
My deranged splatterpunk horror book MOONFLOW about a trans shroom dealer getting lost in a haunted forest and running afoul of evil lesbian hippies and their bound fungus god is available for preorder!! Buy it today or look really uncool!

An older piece that I decided deserved some love (and paint). I try not to do any further carving when coming back to older pieces, but I couldn't resist making a few tiny changes 😅

I may have jumped the gun on this as the government are insisting they won't take wedding rings or family heirlooms.

That gets a deeply suspicious raised eyebrow, but at least they considered it. I guess this is a lesson for me about checking my sources properly.
As a kid learning about the Holocaust, I didn't "get" it at first. I knew a lot of people died and that it was really bad, obviously, but it was just another historical event reduced to a bunch of facts.

Then I found a very particular picture in a textbook and suddenly I GOT it.
The Sun has been told Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood will on Monday propose confiscating jewellery, watches, necklaces from asylum seekers to meet asylum costs

This reflects the most controversial aspect of the Danish scheme - the Jewellery Law. The toughest Labour MPs thought this was OTT

Been busy making stock! I decided it was time to pack away all the beginner carvings and just display those ready for sale. It was a good choice; I still love the old ones, but it was a good confidence boost to see my sellable works lined up.

If you see anything you like, drop me a message! 😉

I'm kind of sorry about this one but not really.

Everyone I've shown it to has asked "what is wrong with you" except one person who went "have some money and can you make more" so honestly I have no idea who my target audience is or what they want.

Is this creepy or cute? Or both? 🤔

I found a couple of carvings from ages ago (before I started carving in earnest) and one of them was a little goblin.

I've got a long way to go, but I've come a long way too 🙂 still, I rather like the little chap on the right!

Playing the Resident Evil 1 remake with a friend. I'll accept at face value the zombies, the cheesy dialogue, the bizarre puzzles, and the NPCs behind locked doors.

The dialogue line about how the Umbrella corporation is the biggest tax payer in the area? DO YOU TAKE ME FOR A FOOL, SIR?!

Hopefully this will serve as an apology for the horrors of my last creation. Little is known about this individual, with their many eyes, huge tusks and can-do demeanor, but one thing is certain: they never skip leg day 😁

If you're getting started with whittling or another hobby that requires sharp tools, it's normal to struggle with stropping and sharpening your tools. It will take time and practice, but don't get demoralised - keep trying different methods, watch some videos and you'll find what works for you 🙂

I feel like I didn't create this one, so much as it used me to create itself. Anyway, I present Mr. Happy Face.

If you want him, you can have him, so long as you promise not to blame me if he eats your soul or traps you in the Hellraiser dimension or whatever. I don't trust him at all.

I picked up a copy of @jeremycshipp.bsky.social's "The Atrocities" and you know what that means - it's time for more gushing praise!

I really like the multilayered approach of Shipp's narrative. Much like "The Merry Dredgers", we're thrown into the story in media res, /1

A deliciously horrible D&D curse, dreamt up in collaboration with @justasleepingcat.bsky.social: you now have to consciously operate your body.

Enjoy having to remember to breathe, and don't forget to make your heart beat! 😁

Do you even know all the things your liver does? THINK FAST.

Apparently I made it onto my first block list in August. I'd love to know what I did but obviously I can't ask the creator and that's fair enough - you don't owe anyone an explanation for blocking them, otherwise we'd all have gone mad arguing with disingenuous alt-right shills.

Still, curious 🤔

I had the pleasure of doing a group commission for my dear friend @j-kenny.bsky.social and his D&D group of their 'Tyrants Bane' campaign. It is my first time working on such a large project with so many characters! This was a really big learning opportunity for me, I had so much fun. ❤️

Complaining about bits that don't make sense in a language I'm trying to learn while being a native English speaker is like being a war criminal scolding someone over a late library book 🤣

Happy "Oh Bloody Hell What Combination of Buttons Changes the Oven Clock Again?" day to everyone in the UK!

I'll be enjoying such traditional pastimes as "holding down the button on my watch until it goes slightly over and then having to do it again" and "deciding the car clock isn't worth it".

This is Hunpledink Stitchleworthington. Definitely Hunpledink with an N, he gets very irritable when people call him Humpledink. He understands, it rolls off the tongue better but it's not his name, y'know?

He reads to children at the local library but not at Hallowe'en, to avoid being stereotyped.
