A very fancy tomte indeed! Presumably this one occupies a position of great importance based on the luxuriousness of their hat.

@chapelorahamm.bsky.social this is the only one I can find of my older scenery pieces. The goblins are apparently sacrificing my d20 on the evil altar 🤣 I don't remember what it did to deserve such a fate but it must have been bad.

I love making tiny scenery. Not sure what it's for (making the amount required for TTRPGs, even just my own game, isn't practical) but it's satisfying nonetheless! The little bottle came out especially nicely 🙂

An experiment: if you cut the crusts off a sandwich (my daughter is not a fan of crusts), try chucking them in a frying pan with a little butter to make a crunchy snack! So far I've only tried it with cheese sandwiches but I suspect jam or honey would make a nice sweet treat.

An older piece that I decided deserved some love (and paint). I try not to do any further carving when coming back to older pieces, but I couldn't resist making a few tiny changes 😅

Been busy making stock! I decided it was time to pack away all the beginner carvings and just display those ready for sale. It was a good choice; I still love the old ones, but it was a good confidence boost to see my sellable works lined up.

If you see anything you like, drop me a message! 😉

I'm kind of sorry about this one but not really.

Everyone I've shown it to has asked "what is wrong with you" except one person who went "have some money and can you make more" so honestly I have no idea who my target audience is or what they want.

Is this creepy or cute? Or both? 🤔
November 12, 2025 at 11:55 AM
I found a couple of carvings from ages ago (before I started carving in earnest) and one of them was a little goblin.

I've got a long way to go, but I've come a long way too 🙂 still, I rather like the little chap on the right!

Fist bump! 😁

Hopefully this will serve as an apology for the horrors of my last creation. Little is known about this individual, with their many eyes, huge tusks and can-do demeanor, but one thing is certain: they never skip leg day 😁

I feel like I didn't create this one, so much as it used me to create itself. Anyway, I present Mr. Happy Face.

If you want him, you can have him, so long as you promise not to blame me if he eats your soul or traps you in the Hellraiser dimension or whatever. I don't trust him at all.

This is Hunpledink Stitchleworthington. Definitely Hunpledink with an N, he gets very irritable when people call him Humpledink. He understands, it rolls off the tongue better but it's not his name, y'know?

He reads to children at the local library but not at Hallowe'en, to avoid being stereotyped.

Was kind of hoping for a picture in the preview, but fine...

This was my tenth carving and my first with my beloved Flexcut knife, in 2022 or 2021. I'd been using regular steel tools and the move to carbon steel felt INCREDIBLE.

In hindsight he's okay at best. The lines are sloppy, the hair is wonky and the fuzzies...(eye twitch).

Our laundry basket broke at one corner. I didn't want to throw it out because it'd just become more landfill, so I fixed it like this instead.

Couldn't tell you why but I find it very pleasing 😊 perhaps you will too, or perhaps it's just me.

It's done! I was worried that the oil would bring up any little imperfections but luckily it was fine. Combined with a coat of wax and a round of polishing, the texture came out beautifully.

I can see all the ways it could be better, but right now it's the best thing I can make; that's good enough.

This little owl charm was a commission by a friend to be part of a memorial for his grandmother, as she loved owls. I'm honoured and touched that he has so much faith in me, and I've done my best to make it as good as I can.

It still needs painting and finishing, but I think the carving is done!

I didn't think when I started this little business that I'd be making not one but two tiny outhouses for clients, and yet here we are 🤣

If you too dream of owning your own whittled model of a ramshackle outdoor toilet, or indeed anything else I can make, why not get in touch at drrelling.etsy.com?

www.wheresyoured.at/the-haters-g... this is a brutal look at the numbers around the AI hype, and it's even worse than I expected (and my expectations were very low). It's worth reading all the way through as there's too much for me to call out, but I feel like this is a good quote to focus on:

If we wash her, what colour do you think she'd come out? 🤔

Another batch of runes. These ones didn't come out quite as nice as the original, so I'll keep working on refining the process.
