my mom used to get on to me for leaving voicemails saying “hey mom, it’s breanna” like she would be getting calls from anyone else who was named breanna and wasn’t me. valid observation on her part. never stopped doing it tho.

so far moving to a new city has included: having to move units after our first unit had hella mold and water damage upon move in.
my car acting up, and still has the issue after a $1500 mechanic bill where they just fixed a separate issue that wasn’t the actual problem.

If you were too young in 2003 here is what Bush told the American people:

1) The Iraq War won’t cost a lot of money
3) We won’t need a lot of troops
4) We’ll bring peace and freedom to Iraq
5) We’ll find WMDs
6) We’ll be welcomed as liberators
7) It will be easy
8) It won’t take long

All lies.

Elon saying he’s going to reprogram his chatbot’s view of history is a perfect example of why these kinds of AI products aren’t the neutral “tools” people always defend them as. They’re little political projects reflecting the ideologies of their creators

The disparity btwn what’s actually happening in Los Angeles and the way it’s being mischaracterized is one of the biggest stress tests of modern media in recent memory. Botted socials, AI, old clips, declining literacy—it’s like seeing a broken emergency response system hit by a storm.

Remember this iconic photo from Ferguson? This is Edward Crawford, throwing back a tear gas canister to protect some nearby kids.

Like many identified Ferguson protesters and organizers, he was "found dead" a couple years later and neither the cops nor the media will ever investigate.

the unfortunate thing about having things happen in you’re life that don’t meet the “normal timeline of events” for life progression is a deep annoyance and frustration with people who go “oh we don’t normally do this thing for people your age”

I cannot overstate the importance of reading books, particularly novels by respected authors, for critical thinking skills and reading comprehension. If the big gun novelists don't interest you, start small and work your way up. Or read whatever interests you. Just read. Or listen. It's all books.

A while back I asked folks why they’re joining Bluesky and the most common response I saw was, “I just want a good place to get my news” and, yall, no. Bad.
