Writer just trying to make it one day at a time, working in mental health and looking forward to the future
Some real life thoughts about the passing of the budget bill:

Before starting graduate school, I used to work in mental health case work. I met a lot of truly wonderful people in the process of the work, and I'm scared that there will be points in the next few years where several of them are dead.

putting the old banner up on this website does kinda make it feel like it could start being my new home now

The fact that the tradition of reposting this whenever you see it seems to be making its way here is probably a good sign for this place having the juice (also man do I wanna be able to dance like this at some point in my life lol)
I mean, if a guy did this in front of me, I would marry him too. Congrats to Zendaya and Tom Holland for their engagement🙏

peak comedy in the fact that I'm learning how to meal prep and generally doing a pretty solid job, but then I grab onto the stove handle of the last thing I'm making for the day at 11:45 PM

even though it's a working day there's something special about being able to just go to an american diner and chill out for a couple of hours there

this is the one area where indian culture has to keep getting better at. your kids aren't a failure because they don't turn into a suitable investment for you.
"The basic problem with the conservative discourse around “parents’ rights” is that it frames children as chattel—that is, as parents’ property. But children aren’t property. They’re people. And as people, they enjoy the same fundamental human rights as anyone else."
There's no such thing as 'parents' rights'
Parents have a right to raise their children in accordance with their own values, but they don't have the right to override their children’s own rights.

biggest wins of 2023: getting $40k+10k work study to go to grad school, becoming clear about my professional goals
biggest fail: wrecking my mental health and several relationships because of my job
biggest mid: running a half marathon but still gaining more weight than I would have liked
Was happy to find that I batted a solid .500 on my 2023 goals.

Biggest Win: Learning to read Chinese (up to HSK 3)
Biggest Fail: Keeping to regular working hours
Biggest Mid: Achieved Age of Empires 2 1v1 ladder elo goal, did not achieve online chess elo goal

when you've spent so much time just like working in the same place all the time, it's actually kinda weird to book tickets out of that place and go travel on your own lol

being sick for 2 weeks plus living alone with your dad around the holidays is *great* for the old mentals

I love how it's losing a game entirely cause of the previous GM's goalie acquisition and special teams turning into a disaster that makes people now start to question if it's the core players that are the problem and not like literally everything leading up to the game

first thought, I don't think I have it in me to be a dedicated poster.

second thought, man does it suck to just have to eat some of your decisions
December 21, 2023 at 2:14 AM
gonna start posting more sens thoughts here.

first thought of the night. i know we're ragging on coaching, but if your players literally flub the breakouts on their sticks, that's on them.
